We can find you a quick, personalised quote based on the plan you choose.

Co-op funeral plans arranged through Reassured are:

  1. Include the Co-op Commitment if you choose to pay over 2 - 25 years. Funeral services are guaranteed after 12 months**
  2. Protect loved ones from rising funeral costs. The cost of the services included in your plan are fixed at today’s prices
  3. Funeral Planning Authority (FPA) approved - protecting you and your money
  4. Silver and Gold plans are fully guaranteed and include all third-party fees
  5. Available to all UK applicants aged over 18

Our dedicated team can guide you through the whole process from comparing plans to filling in the application form.

As mentioned, there is no additional cost to use our service – so make the most of this today and get in touch.

How is the cost of my plan calculated?

The price of each funeral plan is fixed, however, the total cost of your plan is determined by the payment option you choose.

As shown above, there are three payment options, which are as follows:

  1. In full (one single payment)
  2. In 6 or 12 monthly payments
  3. By monthly instalments over 2 – 25 years (charges apply)

If you choose to spread the cost for more than 2 years, instalment charges will apply.

And the total amount payable is calculated based on your age and the payment terms.

For example, a Co-op Simple funeral plan at £3,020 spread over 25 years, would cost a 50-year-old £19.11* per month, with a total amount payable of £5,733.40.

Shorter payment terms may apply, as an instalment plan must be paid in full by the plan payers 80th birthday.

If you choose to pay over 6 or 12 months or upfront in one single payment, this won’t incur any charges and the price you see is the price you pay.

Unlike other forms of funeral insurance, such as an over 50 plan, with a funeral plan you’ll know the total cost of your plan, and exactly how much you’ll pay, in advance.

There are no hidden extras or surprises, for you or for your loved ones when the time comes.

Co-op member discount

Co-op members can benefit from a £75 or £125 discount on Co-op funeral plans arranged through Reassured.

Not yet a member? It takes two minutes to sign up on the Co-op website – there’s just a £1 fee.

Your membership number will be received by email and can be used straight away.

Find out how much your funeral plan will cost after this discount by using the Co-op funeral plan calculator above.

Can I pay a deposit?

Yes, if you wish to pay a deposit (and reduce your monthly payments) then simply let one of our friendly team know when taking out your plan.

Avoid rising funeral costs

Funeral plans provided by Co-op and arranged through Reassured allow you to freeze today’s prices for the services included in the plan.

This means you can protect your loved ones from higher funeral prices in the future, potentially saving them thousands.

The cost of an average funeral is currently £4,184 - a substantial expense to leave behind to loved ones[1].

As costs are expected to continue to rise, it’s a wise decision to lock-in the price of your funeral today.

Seize the opportunity and arrange your funeral plan through Reassured.

Fully guaranteed funeral plans

Co-op Silver and Gold funeral plans are 100% guaranteed.

This means that all the essential funeral director services and third-party services are included in the cost of the plan and frozen at today’s price.

Third-party services include:

  • A crematorium for cremation or cemetery for burial
  • Doctors to certify the death and sign the medical certificate
  • Minister or celebrant to lead the ceremony

For a cremation, all third-party services are guaranteed and there would be nothing more for your loved ones to pay when the time comes.

For a burial, all third-party services are guaranteed but plans don’t cover the cost of a burial plot.

What is the Co-op Commitment?

There’s a possibility that, over a long payment term (up to 25 years), you could pass away before finishing all the instalments to cover the full cost of your plan.

With most other funeral plans, your loved ones would be left with the outstanding balance to pay - which defeats the purpose of having a funeral plan in place.

But with a Co-op funeral plan, in this eventuality, the Co-op Commitment ensures that your funeral costs are still covered and your funeral services still go ahead as agreed - as long as you’ve made at least 12 up to date payments into your plan.

Secure your funeral plan through us today to ensure that no matter what, your loved ones won’t need to worry about the inevitable financial burden.

Over 1,000 Co-op funeral homes

Co-op Funeralcare owns over 1,000 funeral homes across the UK, which guarantee to accept funeral plans purchased through them.

The Co-op would be your funeral plan provider and the funeral director who carries out the funeral, ensuring the same level of service throughout.

Unlike many other funeral plan providers, who work with a network of independent funeral directors.

Are Co-op funeral plans safe?

Co-op funeral plans are Funeral Planning Authority (FPA) approved, which means your money is kept safe until your funeral plan is required.

Funeral plan funds are invested in either an FCA regulated whole of life insurance policy or a trust fund so that in the very unlikely event that Co-op were to go out of business, your funeral will still be covered.

There’s also comfort in knowing that your money is safe with a leading provider, rather than divided between the funeral plan provider and independent funeral director (which is the case with many other funeral plans).

Reassured are also fully regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA), therefore we naturally uphold the highest standard of service when helping you arrange your funeral plan through us.

What’s not included in a Co-op funeral plan?

Any funeral plan, including those from Co-op, will not include a burial plot.

This is because the cost of graves vary greatly across the UK.

Your funeral director will help you make arrangements for this with a burial funeral plan.

Also, as per your wishes, your loved ones would need to make arrangements for the cost of any personalised elements, such as:

  • Flowers
  • Order of services
  • Newspaper notices
  • Additional/alternative transport

Embalming of the body is also not included in the cost, however, a funeral director could help your loved ones make arrangements for this if necessary.

Award-winning funeral plans

Co-op funeral plans have been awarded multiple 5-star ratings for their Gold and Silver plans.

Co-op Funeralcare has also been awarded the Moneynet Triple Gold award for being the Best Funeral Plan Provider.
