Cremation funeral cover with Reassured
Reassured can’t provide quotes for a Simplicity Cremations funeral plan, however we can provide quotes for a SunLife Guaranteed Funeral Plan.
The SunLife Guaranteed Funeral Plan is an insurance policy which guarantees to pay out for your chosen funeral services after two years.
There are two different levels of cover to choose from, but both options include the following items and services:
Simplicity Cremations provide an alternative low-budget funeral option for people who don't want a traditional funeral service.
Their funeral plans include all the essential services for a simple cremation, but without some of the more costly elements that tend to be part of a traditional funeral.
A Simplicity funeral is suited to those who’d prefer to be laid to rest in a more quiet and simpler setting, but one that’s still personal to them.
Simplicity Cremations offer three different plans priced according to how many people you’d like to attend the funeral.
If you wish loved ones to attend, then they’ll have the option to hold a service carried out by themselves at the crematorium.
A Simplicity funeral can be arranged anywhere in mainland UK, excluding Northern Ireland.

Funeral costs in the UK 2022 (up 121% since 2004)
According to the 2022 SunLife Cost of Dying report, the average cost of a basic funeral in the UK is £4,056 and the total cost of dying is £8,864. Since 2004, funeral costs have risen a staggering 121%.
As this figure is so high, many people worry about how their loved ones will cope finding the money to cover the bill – particularly at short notice.
A funeral plan can provide you with peace of mind knowing that the cost of your key services have been taken care of in advance and any financial disruption will be minimised for your loved ones when the time comes.
As mentioned, Simplicity Cremations offer three different prepaid funeral plans starting from £1,495.
You can choose a plan based on how many people you’d like to attend a family-led funeral service.
|The Lily Plan - Prepaid Direct Cremation Plan||The Magnolia Plan - Basic Funeral Plan||The Orchid Plan - Simple Funeral Plan|
|£1,495 or from £15.97 a month||£1,795 or from £19.17 a month||£2,295 or from £24.52 a month|
- Direct cremation with no mourners and no funeral service
- Up to 12 mourners to attend committal at the crematorium and a short service
- Full length service in the chapel organised by family, no limit on attendees
The information in this table is taken from the provider’s website and is correct as of 17/02/2022.
The Lily plan is the most affordable Simplicity prepaid funeral plan, offering a fuss-free direct cremation without service.
This means the person who has died is transported directly to the mortuary and cared for there by a professional until the day of the cremation, (which is arranged at a time to suit the crematorium).
The ashes would then be returned to the family in a simple container, or they can be scattered in the Simplicity Garden of Remembrance.
Family members aren’t able to attend the cremation, however, they could arrange a separate, private gathering at another time and place if they wish to do so.
The Magnolia plan includes a simple cremation funeral as described above, but up to 12 mourners can attend for a short, intimate farewell in the crematorium chapel.
Close family and friends can quietly pay their respects and play a piece of music in your memory if they wish.
Following the cremation, the ashes are returned to the family in a simple container, or they can be scattered in the Simplicity Garden of Remembrance.
The Orchid plan is the most comprehensive plan and includes the opportunity for family to have a full funeral service in the crematorium chapel.
Family can choose to pay for an officiant to hold the ceremony, or they can hold the ceremony themselves.
There’s no limit as to how many mourners attend the crematorium and the date and time is chosen by family.
The total cost of a Simplicity Cremations funeral plan would depend on the plan of choice and the payment terms.
You can spread the cost by paying in affordable monthly payments over 12 months, or by instalments over 2 - 10 years, or simply pay in full when you take out the plan.
Examples of how much the Lily plan will cost per month based on the payment terms:
Spreading the cost over more than 12 months will incur an additional fee and instalments must be complete by the plan holder’s 80th birthday.
The table below compares the products and services that are typically included in a standard funeral plan and a Simplicity cremation funeral plan.
|Products or services included||Standard funeral plan||Simplicity Cremation funeral plan|
|Choice between cremation or burial|
|Help and guidance from the funeral services provider|
|Attended funeral service||Family-led service possible with select plans|
|Family viewing at chapel of rest|
|Bereavement support for loved ones|

Simplicity Cremations is owned by Dignity Funerals Ltd, one of the leading providers of funeral services in the UK.

Simplicity Cremations had received 2,334 reviews on Feefo with an overall Customer Experience Rating of 4.8/5, (as of 17/02/22).
Simplicity Cremations has been awarded Best Direct Cremation Provider at the Good Funeral Awards 2018.
Simplicity funeral plans are approved by the Funeral Planning Authority (FPA) and Dignity have applied for FCA regulation which is a requirement from the 29th July 2022.
The FPA is a self-regulated body for registered funeral plan providers to ensure that they are delivering a high standard of service that protects the customer and their money.
The funds paid into a Simplicity funeral plan are held securely and managed by investment companies in a National Funeral Trust until you require them.
From July 2022, the FCA will take over from the FPA, regulating the funeral plan market to ensure better financial protection for customers.
Simplicity Cremations also offer funeral packages, not to be mistaken with their prepaid funeral plans.
The funeral packages offer unattended, intimate and attended direct cremations, to be paid for and arranged upon a loved ones passing.
This type of funeral can cost from just £995 and includes the bare minimum required for a direct cremation.
Simplicity Cremations also have a Share your funeral wishes service, much like other funeral plan providers.
This enables you to make your final wishes known to Simplicity Cremations and your family, without having to take out a funeral plan.
Whilst this alleviates some of the stress for your loved ones during a difficult time, it doesn’t reduce the financial impact of your passing.
Funerals in the UK are expensive (average cost £4,056) and, as a result, many people choose to plan ahead and make financial provisions for their own final send-off.
As mentioned, Reassured can’t provide quotes for Simplicity Cremations funeral plans. However, we can provide free, personalised quotes for the SunLife Guaranteed Funeral Plan.
The SunLife Guaranteed Funeral Plan is an easy and safe way to set money aside for your cremation or burial funeral in advance.
It’s a type of insurance policy which guarantees to pay out for your chosen funeral services after two years.
When you pass away, the funds are issued to a local trusted funeral director to carry out your funeral. Or, the funds can be issued to your loved ones as a cash pay out if they wish.
The SunLife Guaranteed Funeral Plan comes with FSCS protection, meaning that your money is 100% safe.
