Amending Advertising Preferences

If you are being shown adverts about Reassured which are not distributed directly by us, for example, adverts from your mail provider or a marketing website, there are some steps you can take to manage what adverts you see.

Adverts appearing in your mail inbox

When using free mailing services, you will often be shown adverts because you have signed up to the mail provider’s terms and conditions, which allow them to display these to you. These sometimes appear in your inbox and look like an email, however, these will usually have ‘Ad’ next to them.

Sometimes the adverts you are shown are personalised, meaning that the types of adverts shown to you are based on what is likely to be of interest to you. If you do not want to see particular adverts, then you will need to contact your mail provider directly to opt-out, amend your marketing preferences or switch off personalised adverts.

Adverts appearing as notifications on your phone

You may be experiencing adverts sent directly to your phone. These are clickable pop-up messages that appear via your internet browser. They will appear like a notification, similar to if you receive a text message.

You can disable & remove push notifications yourself by using the web browser settings. The link below explains how you can do this:

Adverts appearing on websites

Adverts are displayed on a variety of different websites and you can control some of the advertising that is shown to you via your internet browser. The link below explains how you can do this:

You can use the ‘choices’ button on the top right to opt-out of receiving browser adverts from specific, or all, marketing companies. Adverts for Reassured are usually issued by marketing companies Taboola, Gemini and Outbrain.
