The top 5 first dance wedding songs

Coming in at number one, and stepping up from last year’s second place, we have Ed Sheeran’s beautiful track “Perfect”.

Replacing “Thinking Out Loud” at number one, this is testament to Ed Sheeran’s enduring popularity that he has secured the top spot for the second year in a row.

As for our second-place song, we have John Legend’s, “All of Me”, which, much like “Perfect” has risen up the rankings to take a higher position. A touching classic, it’s really not hard to see why this song is still a go-to choice for many couples.

In fact, when looking at the top five first dance songs of 2023, the only significant change is that “Thinking Out Loud” has moved to the fourth spot, with Etta James’, “At Last” taking third place and Elvis Presley sitting in fifth with “Can’t Help Falling in Love”, which both appeared in last year’s top five and continue to show the power of old-school love ballads.

And last, but not least, while they didn’t make the top five, Taylor Swift’s, “Lover”, Michael Buble’s, “Everything”, and Elton John’s, “Your Song”, all managed to rank on our overall list.

So, with the most popular first dance songs covered, which artist made the most appearances in our top 30 list?

Well, unlike last year where we had a definitive answer, the spot for the most popular first dance artist of 2023 is tied between Ed Sheeran, Taylor Swift, and Dan + Shay.

This is a marked difference from last year’s first dance list, where Ed Sheeran appeared three times, while Dan + Shay was the only other artist to get at least two songs featured.

The addition of Taylor Swift to this year’s list is a clear indication that her popularity is only growing ever stronger.

But, regardless of how many artists got multiple mentions, it’s very touching to see the variety of first dance songs people have chosen, giving you plenty of options to consider before your big day.
