Reassured life and critical illness (CI) insurance customers received £40,271,300 in claims pay outs in 2022 with a further £12m more still under review across its insurer panel.
AIG Life accounted for more than £18.3m of the claims paid while Legal & General paid out more than £12.4m to Reassured customers.
The broker firm said the figures surpassed 2021’s claims total by £10.8m.
According to the life insurance brokers' 2022 data, an average of 92 families per month were helped as a result of the claims, with 1,107 payments secured: up by 134 from the 973 paid in 2021.
Phil Jeynes, Director of Corporate Strategy at Reassured, said the promises made to its customers remained the primary concern:
